Statement of organizational commitment

We believe that treating people with respect and dignity is the right thing to do. We’re doing everything we can to make things more accessible for people with disabilities.

Precision Nutrition is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Ontario’s accessibility laws.

Training

Our policies and procedures require training on making things accessible to people with disabilities.

We are committed to training staff and volunteers in Ontario’s accessibility laws and aspects of the Ontario Human Rights Code that relate to persons with disabilities.

We will train our employees and volunteers on accessibility as it relates to their specific roles.

Information and communications

We will communicate with you in a way that works for you.

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. When asked, we will provide information about our organization and its services, including public safety information, in accessible formats or with communication supports.

We will also meet internationally-recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA website requirements in accordance with Ontario’s accessibility laws.

Employment

In Plain Language:

We will do whatever we need to make sure that candidates and employees with disabilities have equal access to our hiring process, and for doing their jobs in a way that works for them.

We will notify employees, potential hires and the public that accommodations can be made during recruitment and hiring.

We will notify staff that supports are available for those with disabilities. If required, we will develop individual accommodation plans for employees.

Providing products and services to people with disabilities

As a company based in Ontario, Canada, we know what the law requires, and will meet or exceed those requirements. We have policies in place to ensure that people can access our products and services.

Precision Nutrition is committed to meeting its current and ongoing obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code respecting non-discrimination.

Precision Nutrition understands that obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and its accessibility standards do not substitute or limit its obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code or obligations to people with disabilities under any other law.

Precision Nutrition is committed to complying with both the Ontario Human Rights Code and the AODA.

Precision Nutrition is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities.

Our accessible customer service policies are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equality of opportunity for people with disabilities.

Assistive devices

In Plain Language:

If you need or want to use assistive devices, we will make sure that we are trained on how to use them. If you can’t use an assistive device for whatever reason, we will make sure we find a way to make our products and services accessible to you.

People with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing our products and services.

In cases where the assistive device presents a significant and unavoidable health or safety concern or may not be permitted for other reasons, other measures will be used to ensure the person with a disability can access our products and services.

We will ensure that our staff are trained on accessibility and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by customers with disabilities while accessing our products and services.

Communication

We will communicate with you in a way that works for you.

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability.

We will work with the person with a disability to determine what method of communication works for them.

Support persons

In Plain Language:

If you require a support person, we will make sure they can assist you at no additional charge.

For a person with a disability who is assisted by a support person, fees will not be charged for their support person.

Training

In Plain Language:

We require training on accessible customer service.

Precision Nutrition will provide accessible customer service training to:

  • Anyone involved in developing our policies.
  • Anyone who provides services to customers on our behalf.
  • Staff will be trained on accessible customer service within one month after being hired.

Training will include:

  • Purpose of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard.
  • Precision Nutrition’s policies related to the customer service standard.
  • How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities.
  • How to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person.
  • What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty in accessing Precision Nutrition’s products and services.

Staff will also be trained when changes are made to our accessible customer service policies.

Feedback and complaints go immediately to senior members of our team whose job it is to make sure you can access our services.

Precision Nutrition welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible customer service. Customer feedback will help us identify barriers and respond to concerns.

Customers who wish to provide feedback on the way Precision Nutrition provides products and services to people with disabilities can provide feedback in the following way(s):

All feedback, including complaints, will be directed to our Security, Privacy and Compliance Lead.

Customers can expect to hear back within a business week, but we will endeavour to respond as quickly as possible.

Precision Nutrition will make sure our feedback process is accessible to people with disabilities by providing or arranging for accessible formats and communication supports, on request.
