The world’s first ever interdisciplinary coaching certification will help you guide clients to better sleep, effective recovery, and more resilience to stress.
Be first-in-line when enrollment opens.
Everyone knows nutrition and fitness are key to living a healthy life. But most people overlook or ignore the other, equally vital piece of the health puzzle:
They don’t do this on purpose.
Many clients who struggle to see progress just can’t quite put their finger on why—because they haven’t yet identified chronic stress or lack of sleep as their limiting factor.
Others know they're dealing with less sleep and more stress than ever, but they aren't sure how to get it under control.
Unfortunately, the world is becoming more stressed, less resilient, and deeply sleep-deprived. Just take a look:
The truth is that people need more than sleep hacks, gadgets, apps, and stress-reducing “best practices” to help them get the results they’re after. And coaches need more than random articles, quick tips, and generalized advice to help clients.
But nobody has taught coaches a strategic, science-based approach to guide people to better sleep, effective recovery, and more resilience to stress...
When you become a Certified Coach in Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery, you’ll be able to help your clients in ways that 99% of other coaches can’t.
Ultimately, you’ll help them impact every other area of their lives—from their health and fitness, to their relationships, work, mindset, emotions, and more.
When you do that, your clients will be willing to pay more, stick around for longer, and eagerly refer their friends to you. In other words, you become a truly indispensable coach in your area or niche.
Whether you’re already a health and fitness professional or coach, or you’re interested in expanding your health practice into the deep area of stress, sleep, and recovery, this certification is for you.
This certification is perfect for:
Over 10 years ago, we revolutionized nutrition coaching and transformed it into what it is today.
We steered people away from meal plans, crash diets, and “magic bullet” supplements, and taught them both the science of nutrition and the art of coaching so they could take a new, science-based and holistic approach to their minds, bodies, and lives.
Now, we’re about to do the same thing for the one pillar of health that has gone overlooked, ignored, and underestimated by nutrition, fitness, health, and wellness professionals and organizations forever—until now: sleep science, stress management, and recovery.
Not only is this the industry’s first-ever comprehensive certification that gives coaches a reliable, repeatable process for helping their clients sleep better, recover more effectively, and become more resilient to stress…
But we’ve also partnered with the world’s leading experts in the physiology and psychology of sleep, stress, coaching, and mental performance to create this world-class program. Now you’ll know what the experts know, so you can get better results than ever.
We’re also the only certification company that actively coaches people every single day (100,000+ to date). We help them eat better, get fitter, sleep more, recover more effectively, and live healthier lives. We take all our learnings from coaching and put them into our certification programs. That means everything you’ll learn is based on hands-on results in the real world.
We invented behavior-change coaching. Learning the science is important, but it only matters if you can actually help someone change. That’s what we began specializing in nearly two decades ago (long before anyone else). And it’s why we’re trusted by over 150,000 health and fitness professionals around the world.
Created by the heftiest group of experts in PN’s history, the PN Level 1 Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery Coaching Certification is the synthesis of cutting-edge interdisciplinary expertise in psychology, physiology, mental performance, coaching, sleep science, and more—so that you can benefit from the first-ever comprehensive take on the subject, and help your clients in more ways than ever before.

Start exploring our interactive tools and curriculum as soon as you register, and use our study materials, interactive video supports, plus loads of extras to get over the finish line, get certified as a stress and sleep consultant, and see results.
When you join the program, you’ll get immediate access to PN’s easy-to-use online study platform, which helps break down the program into 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Read through the chapter material, and use the chapter videos and the audio clips to supplement your learning—in whatever way works best for you.
Step 2: Practice what you’ve learned with study guide questions, case studies, and simulated coaching conversations, and by building your own personalized rest, recovery, and resilience (“3R”) program.
Step 3: Take the short end-of-chapter exam at your convenience.
You’ll find 4 comprehensive units broken out into 30 chapters, plus extensive support for different types of learners. For an in-depth look, here’s the curriculum overview.
Busy people with busy lives created this program, which is why we’ve designed it to be flexible to the demands of real life (AKA: no deadlines!) and accessible from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.
To give you an idea: if you can study for 2-3 hours per week, you can expect to finish the certification within 4-6 months. If you’re ready to dive into the deep end and invest 4-5 hours per week or more, you can finish in as quickly as 3-4 months.
You’ll work through the study materials at your own pace, with the support of extra learning tools to help your learning:
Practice everything you learn—in a realistic but risk-free way, thanks to case studies taken from our experience coaching 100,000+ clients and our brand-new coaching simulations. From the foundational coaching skill of deeply understanding your client’s life and context, to uncovering and reflecting on where you could improve your coaching and communication skills, these case studies and client scenarios are meant to give you immediate feedback on your real answers.
We’ve created fully-animated unit overviews to help different types of learners grasp key concepts, as well as short introductory videos to each chapter. With at least 1 in-depth video per unit (and sometimes up to 4), you’ll have all the video material you need for quick refreshers before exams.
As you work through the program, you’ll find over 30 of PN’s proprietary questionnaires and assessment forms to use—both for yourself and with clients—that are unique to the industry. Everything you need to successfully coach someone from stressed-out to sleeping blissfully will be included: from a “Stress Inventory” to a “Sleep and Recovery Ideas” worksheet to help you brainstorm together with clients.
Ask questions, get study support, and connect with other fitness and health professionals who are on the cutting-edge of the coaching industry. These are people who have committed to having a growth mindset, expanding their interdisciplinary learning, and applying the deep health framework—in other words, more incredible people like you.
By the end of the program, you’ll have completed 25 short exams (almost one per chapter). If you get at least 75% of the questions correct, you’ll earn your PN1-SSRC credentials. We’ll send you your official certificate immediately, and you’ll be able to proudly add “PN1-SSRC” to your bio.
Most of our students pass the exams on the first try, but we’ll be here to support you every step of the way if you don’t. Once you’re certified, we’ll show you how to list your business on our site, so that people who are looking for a coach who specializes in deep health can find you!
In the PN Level 1 Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery Coaching Certification, you’ll learn how to:
Identify common stressors, key recovery modalities, and ideal behaviors in sleep rituals—as well as how they shape client behavior and outcomes.
Help clients who are dealing with universal sleep, stress, and recovery “disruptors” like shift work, aging, parenthood, and more.
Understand both the short- and long-term effects and illnesses that can result from chronic stress, inadequate recovery, and poor sleep.
Look at health and wellbeing more holistically—and see how sleep, stress, and recovery connect to all aspects of your and your clients’ lives.
Assess the value of common tools and gadgets used to measure and track stress, recovery, and sleep for individual situations.
Analyze the macro- and micro- levels of stress and recovery, starting from the genes and proteins that regulate sleep, to the systemic disparities in stress, recovery, and health outcomes.
Explain the variation in the experience of stress and capacity for recovery among different clients—so you can fully grasp how individual experiences fit into the broader context of deep health.
Evaluate your own levels of stress, recovery, and sleep quality, and use this information to create your own self-coaching plan.
Apply best practices to every client interaction when it comes to sleep, stress, and recovery—like identifying the “big rocks” in a recovery routine, determining appropriate progress metrics, evaluating client progress, and using outcome-based decision making.
Use your new skills to guide your clients through personalized, comprehensive plans that help them: handle stress more effectively, sleep better and longer, and recover so they can perform their best and face anything that life throws at them.
