The GLP-1 Coaching Certification for Coaches & Trainers

Clients are changing. Great coaching has to change with them.

This is the biggest opportunity in health and fitness in a generation.

For the first time, the biology that fought people their whole lives can be quieted. Millions are getting a real second chance.

GLP-1s change what a body does. It doesn’t teach a person how to live. That’s coaching, and it has never mattered more.

In this new world, what happens when a client you care about looks you in the eye and asks a question you can’t answer?

  • Why am I losing weight but feel weaker than ever?
  • Why did I stall?
  • What happens when I stop?

The moment you hesitate, they feel it. And so do you.

The GLP Coaching Institute Certification, created in partnership with Precision Nutrition and Dr. John Berardi, gives you the confidence, the coaching strategies, and the evidence-based framework to support clients through every stage of their GLP-1 journey.

Helping coaches turn what the science says into what clients actually do

Built on the foundation you already have.

You already know how to help people change.

That skill doesn’t expire in this new world. It becomes the most valuable thing you have.

GLP-1s change the body. They don’t change how change actually happens, one practice, one conversation at a time.

That’s still your work.

Created by the GLP Coaching Institute with Dr. John Berardi and powered by Precision Nutrition’s methodology, this certification brings together two things rarely found in one place: the behavior-change method PN has refined for 20 years, and a deep working knowledge of what GLP-1 clients actually face.

Whether it’s your first GLP-1 client or your fiftieth, you’ll leave with the confidence to coach, not guess.

This isn’t just another GLP-1 course.

Every other course will teach you the drug. As if the drug is the client.

It isn’t.

The drug is the same for everyone. The person is different every time.

Because two clients taking the same medication can have completely different experiences.

One is losing muscle and doesn’t feel it yet. One has stalled and blames themselves. One is about to come off and is quietly terrified.

Same medication. Three people who need you to see something different in each of them.

Anyone can teach you the drug. Seeing what a client needs before they can name it, that’s what makes you a specialist.

Inside the GLP-1 Coaching certification

Learn to coach the moments that decide everything.

1.

Protect the right weight, not just less weight.

The medication takes the weight. You make sure it doesn’t take the muscle, the strength, and the vitality your client will need for the next twenty years.

2.

Navigate plateaus with confidence.

Know why progress stalls, what to change, and when the bravest thing you can do is hold the line.

3.

Coach every stage, alongside the prescriber.

Before they start, while they’re on it, and if or when they choose to come off, so they keep what they fought for.

4.

See the client in front of you.

Discover the Five GLP Coaching Types, and learn to tailor everything you do to the body, the challenges, and the goals of the person you’re actually coaching.

The medication changes biology.

Coaching changes what happens next.

GLP-1 medications are changing the way people eat.

  • They don’t automatically build strength.
  • They don’t teach someone how to eat enough protein when they aren’t hungry.
  • They don’t help someone navigate vacations, stress, menopause, busy schedules, or life after medication.

That’s still coaching.

And it may be more important than ever.

The weight comes back without a plan.

In the landmark STEP 1 trial, patients regained about two-thirds of the weight they had lost within a year of stopping semaglutide.4 And roughly half of people quit within the first year — 46% of those with diabetes, 65% without.5 The moment a client tapers or stops is the moment your coaching matters most.

A lot of what’s lost is muscle.

Studies show that 35–45% of GLP-1-induced weight loss is lean mass unless it’s actively protected with resistance training and adequate protein intake.6 Most clients have no idea. Your coaching can be the reason they keep their strength.

Clients want this support, and they’ll pay for it.

In a national Harris Poll, 56% of employed adults said they’d be more likely to pay out of pocket for a GLP-1 if a behavioral support program were included, rising to 69% among 35–44-year-olds.7 The demand for a coach in the loop is already here.

And it works.

In one large nutrition-and-lifestyle support program layered onto GLP-1 treatment, average weight loss jumped from under 1% of body weight to 11.7% — roughly a 13× increase — and members who stopped the medication but kept the coaching held onto 94% of their weight loss six months later.8

Why this matters for your practice.

Clients aren’t looking for a coach who knows the medication.

They’re looking for someone who can make sure this time is different.

And doctors want the same thing their patients do: someone they can trust to make it work.

Most coaches are figuring it out as they go.

This certification lets you meet the biggest shift our field has seen with confidence, not guesswork.

Not by knowing more about the medication.

By becoming the coach who always knows what comes next.
