Wanted: A world-class Chief Storyteller & Content Innovation Leader who will create truth-seeking content that captures attention

Precision Nutrition has already revolutionized the health and fitness industry once, and we're seeking a visionary leader to conquer the challenge of growing our audience in a rapidly evolving content landscape so we can do it again.

If you're a driven, health and fitness-loving, story-telling content creator who can both develop outstanding content and organize a team to do the same, this role has the potential to positively impact millions of lives. We'll provide the resources and support to take your leadership skills to the next level.

Some might call the job “VP of Content,” or “Head of Content,” or “Chief Content Officer.” We don’t really care what you call it, as long as your unwavering passion — day in and day out — is to create life-changing content that cuts through the noise and helps people live happier, healthier lives.

You might wonder what we mean by “content.” It’s every way we communicate with our audience: newsletters, email, sales pages, social media, and articles. Traditionally, we’ve been more of a long-form content company. However, we believe we need to make a significant shift towards more video and audio content. This is where you come in. We’re not looking for an SEO playbook. You’ll have the recipe for using short and long-form videos to capture attention.

To accelerate our impact, we need a content creator and leader who deeply understands how to tell great stories, connect with audiences and inspire meaningful change. Your strategic vision and creative expertise will guide us on this mission.

We need a visionary content leader to help us transform millions more lives.

Join our adventure

to revolutionize health and wellness on a global scale. If you’re an experienced and versatile creator with a passion for empowering change, we're embarking on an incredible journey – and we want you at the helm of our content creation.

Who we’re looking for

A content visionary driven to connect with our ideal audience

You're a strategist and a tactician.

You're able to craft a bold content vision and pinpoint the specific tactics that will distribute our content successfully. You’ve moved past SEO as a growth tactic and successfully built audiences from scratch within the past three years using different forms of media.

You're a master of the micro-moment.

You instinctively know how to spot timely topics, craft engaging content, and position PN as the go-to expert when people need answers. You know how to reach people in those critical moments when they're searching for guidance.

You're a master storyteller.

Your ability to craft compelling narratives on fresh, relevant topics is unparalleled. You routinely produce high-quality, in-depth resources across multiple platforms, always aiming to break new ground and offering intriguing views into unexplored areas.

You understand struggle (and how to solve it).

You have a knack for pinpointing our audience's pain points. With your guidance, we create resources and build expert teams designed to lead people through challenges and dispel their fears. You understand that a clear point of view, addressing anxieties, combined with expert advice and practical, relatable examples, is a content formula that commands attention. At the core, you are a master at sharing the specifics of “how” to make progress on something that truly matters.

You're a master of clarity.

We need to stand out from the crowd. You can boil down complex subjects into their core elements in a world flooded with information. You craft unforgettable narratives that resonate with our audience on an emotional level. You can confidently communicate a clear point of view.

You embrace boldness.

You refuse to create boring, safe content. Cliches make you cringe. You push boundaries to uncover the hidden truths in our field and aren't afraid to take calculated risks. While you're not a contrarian for the sake of it, you're excited to challenge assumptions and learn by doing.

You examine the gap between knowing and doing.

You are deeply interested in why people fall short of doing what they know they should. You fearlessly explore the best and worst tactics, bringing transparency to our content.

You’re a motivating, team-oriented, people person.

To get other people to execute on your projects, you must be able to easily build teams, relationships and credibility. You earn and give respect so that you can work with others to create world-class engaging content. Oh, and since you get to do all of this remotely, from the comfort of your home, you won’t be going into an office every day to wrangle the team—so your people and leadership skills are truly first class. (A sense of humour will be a definite asset too.)

You’re an organized, strategic planner that gets stuff done.

You love to organize, plan, systematize and you can adapt quickly when things change. You can anticipate when something might be going off the rails and course-correct.

You like variety.

You’re a generalist with a broad set of interests and experiences who is comfortable making connections and synthesizing a wide range of ideas, tools, and topics. All the weird random skills and subjects you’ve learned along your journey will be an asset, not a liability.

You leave your ego at the door.

You have talent and lead by doing, showing and mentoring. And you have a palpable excitement about the future.Yet you also easily create space for others, allowing good ideas to shine. You lead with integrity, using a strengths- and solutions-based paradigm and create a space where people feel safe to share their ideas without cynicism and excessive "constructive criticism."

What you’ll be doing

Developing our content from idea to reality

You're the one who creates and/or oversees the idea to completion from the earliest stages. That includes a host of duties, including:

  • Ideation and strategic visioning. You’ll brainstorm with the team to develop concepts —taking the company’s goals and turning them into big, but concrete ideas to build our audience.
  • Leading the charge on content development. Once the big idea is nailed down, you’ll decide which individuals (inside or outside the organization) fit best in which role, and assign content creation, design work, and other tasks to get the content off the ground.
  • Guiding the team on what incredible content “looks and feels” like. You know better than anyone what engages, motivates and intrigues audiences—and you’ll use the “taste for greatness” to ensure our content is continually above the bar. That includes working with everyone to carefully craft every corner of our content.
  • Create, edit, and review content. In addition to directing at a high level, you’ll also be putting your own boots on the ground, from creating and distributing content to editing and reviewing content produced by others.

A few important caveats

This is a dream job, if you’re the right person for it.

1

Must-Have #1: You must be a resourceful self-starter.

You may have noticed we skipped the boilerplate-filled list of “roles and responsibilities” for this position. That’s because we trust you to get things done however you see fit. If you find this level of freedom scary or paralyzing, this job isn’t for you.

2

Must-Have #2: You must love executing, not just innovating.

Precision Nutrition isn’t a start-up. We have a successful business model, a customer base and products we continue to evolve. However, we’re looking to grow our reach to a much bigger audience. We’re not interested in playing the SEO game. We need to adjust our approach, and we need a leader with experience to be the driving force behind that change. This role is about ideation, experimentation and execution. We need a balance of a fantastic strategist and executor to bring it to life.

3

Must-Have #3: Knows when to use internal vs. external resources.

What matters most is that our products and content are genuinely helping people live healthier lives. You need to be obsessively customer-focused, continuously seeking to understand what they’re struggling with or wanting to solve and incorporating these insights into your work so we never lose sight of this goal.

4

Must-Have #4: You must care deeply about the customer.

You’re probably saying, “This role is bigger than one person," meaning you’ll need to lead a confident and capable group of individuals, including both domain experts and potentially platform experts. You’ll need to know how to build and lead this group using internal and external resources. This means being clear on the specific skill sets needed and whether or not they need to be core competencies of our organization or if contracting out makes sense. We’re not looking to build a massive ship that’s hard to turn. We’re in the business of helping people achieve meaningful progress, and we need to be able to move quickly.

Wondering if this is the right path for you?

Every year, professionals at the top of their field choose to join Precision Nutrition. Here are some reasons why.

1

We give you the freedom to “do you.”

Unlike most companies, we don’t have rigid rules about how and when to do things. You’ll be free to work independently, whenever, wherever, and however you want. Of course, we’re a tight team, and to do great work, we’ll need to come together when the situation requires it.

2

You can work from anywhere.

We’re a 100% remote company, and have been working remote for 17 years. As the world changes we will continue to be remote!

3

Meetings are optional. (No, really.)

You’re an adult. You’re capable of deciding how your time should be spent. If you don’t think you need to attend a meeting, you don’t. Simple as that.

4

Diversity & Inclusion is a priority.

We view Diversity & Inclusion as critical to our success. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and our team members are people with different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds, who share a passion for helping people live happier and healthier lives. Diversity not only includes race and gender identity but also age, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, religion, and many other parts of one’s identity. All of our team members' points of view are key to our success, and inclusion is everyone's responsibility. Everyone is welcome — as an inclusive workplace, we want our employees to bring their authentic whole selves to work. Be you.

5

You’ll always feel supported.

In a regular office, it’s easy to feel like a hamster in a wheel, powerless to change things. At Precision Nutrition, we work as a team to overcome issues & barriers that stand in each other’s way, and we treat each other with enthusiasm, compassion, and care.

6

You’ll never be bored.

People often come to Precision Nutrition after hitting a plateau in their old jobs. At PN, you’ll get the chance to conquer new challenges, learn from the best, and reach thrilling new heights of personal and professional growth.

Plus: no commute ... and no 9-to-5 grind.
