Updates to the Lean Eating Software

As you know, at Precision Nutrition, we are big fans of evidence-based decision making. “How’s that working for ya?” is one of Dr. Berardi’s favourite questions. It’s a cornerstone of our approach to nutrition, health and exercise… and technology.

A couple of years ago we started the Lean Eating Coaching program. If you were part of one of our first cohorts, you remember that it was all done on our forums.

Then, in early 2009, we spent several months designing and implementing a new web interface for our coaching program, making it much easier for our clients to track their progress and for your coaches to make sure that you’re getting what you need. That first version of our Coaching Platform was such a success that we re-designed it from scratch. Our Lean Eaters started using it in 2010.

Every time we’ve made improvements in the interface — based on feedback from clients, coaches, and our design team — we have seen improved compliance and increased success. Ultimately, that’s what it’s all about for us. How’s that working for ya?

Well, based on our own testing and feedback we’ve gotten from you, we’ve just wrapped up a re-design of the Coaching Platform that should make it easier for our clients and coaches to get the information they need. We will be releasing the new design on Monday, May 31st.

Here are some of the changes you’ll notice:

  • The PN header has been replaced with a condensed header, helping you focus on your LE tasks;
  • “Previous day” and “Next day” links have been added to make it easier to navigate through the days;
  • The calendar has been expanded and moved to the sidebar to allow you to navigate w/fewer clicks;
  • Most of the navigation links have been moved to the top to make them easier to use;
  • “My Progress” has been renamed to “My Compliance”, it’s measuring your compliance, after all;
  • A “Tech Support” link has been added to the sidebar, making it easy for you to get support;
  • The “Email notification” link has been simplified;
  • “My Profile” has been renamed “My Progress”, since it’s the main tool used to gauge your progress.

The changes are comparatively small.  But we think they will improve usability and make your tasks clearer, while giving you even more functionality than you had before.

We’re excited to roll this out, and we wanted our current Lean Eaters to have the opportunity to use it for the last month of their program.

We hope you enjoy it!
