Interval Workouts Set To Music

Also wanted to give you a heads up about something musical – that came across my desk a few weeks back.Basically, I got an enthusiastic mail from colleague BJ Gaddour who was telling me all about something called Workout Muse. You see, the Workout Muse team has created a really cool workout music site.

Well, perhaps that doesn’t best describe it. I guess it’s more of a workout + music site in which a host of interval-based training sessions are set to music.

Now, we’re not talking mp3s of your favorite Golden 80s or even your favorite Coldplay songs. No, we’re talking tempo music perfectly coordinated to your interval workouts. For example, let’s say you’re doing a sprint workout that looks like this:

5 min warm-up
30sec sprint, 90sec recovery x 10 sets
5 minute cool-down

Well, the Workout Muse audio tracks would start out with a upbeat but relaxed warm-up track. Interestingly, during the track, a narrator counts down to your first sprint. Then, when it’s time to give ‘er, the music picks up in a big way. You sprint. And the music drives you on. With 10 seconds to go, then 5 seconds, and then at time 0, you’re again prompted by your narrator. Then you rest. And so on.

It’s actually pretty cool in terms of providing high tempo workout music as well as providing audio narration so you’re not constantly watching the clock. Of course, having discovered Workout Muse, I had to create a special program for our PNers. So, I convinced BJ to provide you guys with a couple of workouts and music tracks. At no charge, of course. So here ya go:

This first PDF is a 16-Week “Fat Loss Cardio” program…it should give you an idea of the types of interval workouts the Workout Muse team sets to music.

This second PDF is an actual “Tabata” protocol, a 4 minute workout that you can do any time of the day to burn some serious calories. Warning: it’s intense!

However, rather than just providing the workouts, we’ve actually included an MP3 of the music that accompanies this protocol.

Lean Eating Coaching
Finally, I wanted to answer a few questions about the Lean Eating Coaching Program. You see, back in June we invited 100 men and 100 women on a 16-week journey into the wonderful world of fat loss. Now, we expected it to take a week or two to find the right candidates. It took 12 hours. That’s right, in 12 hours the program filled up – to this dismay of thousands who wanted to participate.

So, over the last few weeks we’ve received thousands of emails saying, in essence:

“When’s the next course get started?”

Well, we can’t say for sure when we’ll launch the next group…although it’ll definitely be in the next few months and we’ll absolutely let you know when. However, what we can say is this…if you want to be a part of the Lean Eating Coaching Group, you’ll need to sign up for our waiting list immediately.
