Training and nutrition.  If you want a lean, strong, high performing body, training and nutrition go hand in hand.

Of course, fitness experts get asked, all the time, to quantify how much nutrition, or training, impact progress.  And they usually come up with some goofy, made up numbers like:

  • Nutrition is 80% of the of the battle
  • When it comes to results, it’s 50% nutrition, 50% training
  • (Insert other nonsense here)

However, as my good friend Carter says, your training plan and your nutrition plan are more like your own heart and lungs.  They’re both equally important.  You don’t function without either.  And without both of them, you’re dead.

Yet, if you want some sort of bogus numbers to throw around at fitness conventions and cocktail parties, here’s what I’ve got for ya:

  • When it comes to results, it’s 100% nutrition and 100% training.

It’s for this reason, we here at PN like to include a host of training options for our members.  After all, we don’t want you trying to operate on heart or lung power alone.

Yep, we just added three new training programs in our Member’s Only PN Exercise Plan area.  And, let me tell you, these programs kick butt.  Here’s a short description of each:

  1. Scot Prohaska’s The Awakening: Body Transformation Now

    Scot Prohaska is the owner of EKAWA fitness in Huntington Beach, California.  If you’re not familiar with So Cal, let’s just say that in the beach areas, being fit and athletic is a like religion. And Scot? He’s like one of those fired up preachers.

    Because of his motivational demeanor and his track record of success, professional athletes from all major sports regularly make the pilgrimage to EKAWA. His current roster includes perennial All-Stars from the NHL, NFL, MLB, CFL, USA Track & Field, Canada Track & Field, USA Bobsled & Skeleton and Division I sports programs.

  2. Craig Ballantyne’s Hot Zone Fat Loss Training

    Here’s another great workout from Craig Ballantyne, a Toronto-based coach whose list of accolades include – advisory board member for Men’s Fitness and Maximum Fitness mags, consultant to the National Rugby team, and graduate of the McMaster Exercise Physiology masters program, one of the top in Canada.

    This 4 week program is designed to hit your fat burning “hot zones.”  According to Craig: “By using a combination of dumbbell exercises and bodyweight exercises in classic Turbulence Training superset fashion, TT Hot Zone will have you pulling, pressing, and lunging your way to a better, tighter body before you know it.”  To check this program out, click here.

  3. Geoff Girvitz’s Athletic Training For Fat Loss

    Geoff Girvitz is the owner and director of Bang Fitness, also located in Toronto, Ontario.  His facility and programs focus on athletic development for everyone from professional athletes (with particular expertise in MMA) to regular folks who want the same things – speed, strength, power, mobility and improved body composition – that athletes do.
