9 Nutrition Realities

9 Nutrition Realities (reloaded for 2010)

So you eat healthy, congratulations.

But have you ever wondered how your daily food choices influence our land, water, and planet?
  • Do you know how many animals are used for food in the U.S.?
  • How much money do we really spend on fast food?
  • Can we alleviate world hunger by what we choose to eat?
  • When will fish stocks run out?
  • How much waste do we produce?
  • Are we willing to use recycled toilet paper?
  • Do we spend more money each year on video games, porn, or organic produce?
  • Do we have enough healthy food?
  • Did you know a woman called 911 because McDonald’s ran out of McNuggets?
Watch this presentation if you want a dose of nutrition reality.
  • Click here for 9 Nutrition Realities (you can click on the underlined hyperlinks during the presentation).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping to get more responses about the content and if it's "new" information.

I love the presentation...it's pretty eye opening.

However, I'd love a part 2...an entire presentation devoted to what I can do specifically to avoid being part of the problem, rather, being part of the solution.

Cheers,
I have to agree on both parts here... Although I will say the Fast Food portion should be cut out of everyone's diets.

A part of this would be a good slogan for the USAID and other organizations to petition Congress. "We spend more on McDonalds than we do on starving people in the World. Why is that?"

Of course (to play devil's advocate here sort of), if everyone stopped eating meat, wouldn't that create ~570,000 more unemployed people? Now that's a hit that our economy and welfare system needs.

I wouldn't say cut meat out completely, however I do agree with reducing it. Especially if it comes in the form of fast food.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope I don't come off as too hard on you or against you Ryan. Just putting my two cents worth in is all.

Patrick.

I have to agree with Carol also. I got caught up in my opinion about the topic to point out that you did a great job of presenting this. Truth is, it did make me think about a few things. Not so much the giving up meat, but the economics of everything. And it makes me regret that our morals are so misplaced.

Have a wonderful weekend
Patrick.

One of the most common questions we get from Precision Nutrition readers is whether we can help them personally. The answer is usually no, and has been for some time. And the reason is simply that there are more people that need help than there are qualified coaches to help them.

But every now and again, we open up a few spots in our coaching programs, and today is one of those days. We're now accepting clients for our group coaching programs: Lean Eating for Men, and Lean Eating for Women.
