Post-Workout Recovery
Hey everyone...
I'm following PN eating, and have been doing pretty well with it thus far, and getting some solid results. My question is related specifically to pre and post workout supplements. I currently take MusclePharm Assault pre-workout. I sip BCAA's during training, and then afterward, I would normally take MusclePharm Re-Con. I am really trying to stay away from as many carbs as possible - yes, even Post Workout Recovery. I'm trying to cut fat hard, and it has been going great, so I don't want to mess it up with something with piles of sugar in it (like Recon) - So Recon is out. On the same note, I lift pretty hard, heavy full body, and I benefit a lot from post workout recovery help. I can take BSN's Cellmass, which has a lot less sugar - but I dont' do so well on that. I'm just curious what you folks are doing - if anything - that isn't loaded up with sugar... this is in addition to PWO nutrition. Thanks. Tom |

PWO if you're really trying to lose fat, just take some whey protein isolate.
Beyond that you could try contrast showers sleeping flam rolling stretching light activity

I do drink whey after my workouts. I also use a roller, etc. My question was related specifically to post workout supplementation... beyond creatine and BCAA.
Thanks. |

I'm not sure there's much beyond that you can do.
What is your training like?

Try raisins. I've used them with great success pwo. Naturally occurring sugars, and it's a base food. No bloating at all!

Add Glutamine and Glycine to your post workout shake, especially if you are not carb tolerant.

The preworkout looks like a pretty good formula as long as it's good quality. I'm not a huge fan of the post-workout one. Seems like they added a little bit of everything in it in small doses.
PWO I would stick with BCAA's or leucine, creatine, whey hydrolysate or isolate, glutamine (maybe)
