Please help if you can!
Hi all- I messaged Kate about this, and she recommended I post to general discussion. Please help if you can!
Last year a good friend of mine was diagnosed with colon cancer. unfortunately he's already stage 3 but had been doing very well on chemotherapy and was going to be cleared for physical activity soon. He has been a fencer for years and was a huge part of renaissance faires in NY, DE, and PA. He was anxious to start training for a mud run and get into shape (since his treatment destroyed his body and he is now diabetic). Unfortunately, a few days before his 1 year treatment anniversary he was suddenly admitted to the hospital. The chemotherapy had created several clots in his blood- one lodged in his leg causing intense pain, the others went to his brain, causing multiple ministrokes which stole his ability to read and speak. He has had a filter placed in his heart to stop the remaining clots form killing him, but he is still in the hospital for multiple tests and therapy. His mother died when he was very young and he lost his father a few years ago- so he only has his friends, and girlfriend. Because he will not be mobile once he is released from the hospital I made a little website for him. Chris currently has a water bed in his home- which will be completely unsuitable for his recovery; there is no way Kalinda will be able to get him in and out of that bed. The website I created is a donation drive to get Chris some extra cash to be able to afford a new bed. Since he's been on disability for nearly a full year he really doesn't have much income- insurance covers his hospital bills, but making up the slack is nearly impossible- especially since Kalinda spends most of her time caring for him. If any of you could forward my website around, or even just post it somewhere to get the word out, OR make a donation that would be greatly appreciated. I tried tweeting it but it's not getting any attention- I figure people must just assume "someone else" will donate. Chris doesn't like the details of his illness spread around, so there is very little about what is actually wrong with him on the page- just that we are trying to raise money. Here is a link to the site: http://www.wix.com/formfitsfunction/projectbed Anything you could do to spread the word would be unbelievably wonderful. Thanks for taking the time to read this. ~K

Oh my, what a good friend you are for reaching out and setting up that site. Sending prayers heavenward for healing and for donations to pour in. Thanks for sharing!
