Informal Experiment Update: 8 Weeks With Cosgrove and JB

A few weeks ago, we were looking for 60 men and women to participate in a really cool research project we were starting. We had a fantastic response: over 200 people in the first 8 hours and over 600 total! We expanded the study as much as we could, but unfortunately we couldn’t include everybody.

To refresh your memory, the project is designed to compare three different strength and conditioning programs. We want to find out which one (if there is one) is best for fat loss and overall fitness.  The programs were designed by JB, Alwyn Cosgrove and Fraser Quelch, so we think all three will work very well.  But we just don’t know which one will lead to the greatest performance gains and body fat losses. Thus, we decided to do a study to find out.

Update

I wanted to give everybody an update on the project since I’ve had so many people interested. So far we’ve selected all the participants and assigned them to one of three groups.

They’ve done all the pre-testing and started the workouts on Monday, February 9. Every two weeks, we’ll change the workouts. After eight weeks, we’ll have the post-testing.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until the end to find out what each group does. But won’t it be fun to find out?

Thanks!

I also want to thank everybody who signed up to participate. To those of you who signed up, but weren’t selected, we appreciate your interest and enthusiasm. Although you weren’t selected this time, there is good news! We have a bunch of studies lined up and we’re getting ready to launch more. We’re sure that one of those will interest you.

For those of you who have been selected, thanks! Make sure you check the program link you were sent regularly; we’ve updated the videos, and you’ll receive new workouts every two weeks. Again, all your results should be sent in at the end of the 8 weeks. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at research@precisionnutrition.com.

Special thanks

Big thanks to Alwyn Cosgrove and Fraser Quelch for their help getting this study off the ground. Also, thanks to all of you who are participating in this project. Getting good people to volunteer to participate in research like this isn’t always easy.

Stay tuned…
