Get A Grip with Lynx Grips
A couple of companies have gotten in touch with me lately to talk about their new lifting paraphenalia, specifically their gym-friendly grip devices.
To begin with, the people at Lynx showed me their “performance grips” - designed to improve grip control, to alter the diameter of the bar (in order to increase forearm activation), to reduce callus build-up, and more. And the cool part is that these grips can be used for more than just lifting. In essence, they’re proposed to replace gloves of all types while improving grip and forearm activation.

I’ve got a couple pairs on order and will be reviewing them shortly. Also, if any of you have tried them out, let me know what you think.
I also just received a pair of Tyler Grips. Tyler Grips are ergonomic, cone-shaped, urethane sleeves that dramatically increase bar diameter (vs. the smaller increases seen with the Lynx Grips above). This leads to fairly large and rapid increases in forearm and biceps strength.
Again, after I put’em to the test I’ll be talking more about them.

Of course, each set of grips serves a different purpose. If you’re looking for “fat grip” training and don’t have fat bars, the Tyler Grips seem the way to go. And if you’re looking grip control and hand protection, the Lynx Grips may be the way to go.
