Eggshell membrane reduces joint pain

by John Berardi | October 9th, 2012

Just over a year ago we announced one of our Precision Nutrition “Informal Experiments.”

This one was designed to see if an eggshell membrane supplement could help reduce joint pain in 60 active men and women.

Well, the results are finally in.

Confirming anecdotal reports across the web, it looks like daily supplementation with eggshell membrane can help reduce post-exercise joint pain in both inactive and active adults.

From the conclusion of our research paper:

“The three human trials to date (including the present study) have demonstrated statistically significant and clinically relevant improvements in joint pain using 500mg of eggshell membrane (EM) daily.”

“Although more research is needed to further document these effects, as well as to clarify the mechanism of action of EM, the current body of evidence suggests that those who suffer from chronic joint pain may benefit from EM and fast joint care+ (FJC+) as an alternative therapy for chronic joint pain and perhaps other joint and connective tissue (JCT) disorders.”
