Alaina Hardie and Felicia Oh

Alaina Hardie -- grappling with World Champion Jiu-Jitsu practitioner Felicia Oh

Professional Background
Alaina Hardie is Precision Nutrition’s Nerd in Residence, responsible for most  of the technology that supports the Precision Nutrition team and our customers.  Her first computer was an Apple ][+ that her parents purchased in 1981 (which, to give you some sense of how ancient Alaina is, was the same year that Soft Cell hit it big with "Tainted Love"). That Apple ][+ gave Alaina the opportunity to get really good at computers and really bad at everything else, including health and fitness... until Precision Nutrition.

Educational Background – B.Sc. Computer Science

Alaina originally started Virginia Commonwealth University in 1988 in the English Literature program. She made it for two semesters before discovering, in her words, that “computers paid better than Chaucer”, at which point she left school and focused on her career in information technology. She earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 2003 after moving to Canada from the US.

Alaina is also a CrossFit Level 1 coach, an NCCP-certified boxing coach, and a submission grappling instructor.

Athletic Background

Alaina took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2007. She earned her blue belt from women’s BJJ legend Felicia Oh after only ten months of training and her purple belt from grappling superstar Eddie Bravo just six months later, a nearly unheard-of accomplishment. She currently trains with Mark Stables of MECCA MMA and Geoff Girvitz of Bang Fitness in Toronto, ON.

After discovering the Precision Nutrition system and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Alaina dropped over 60 lbs and got into the best shape of her life. To learn how to do the same  with Alaina’s help, click here.
